While I was trying to write the title for this email, for some reason, I kept missing the number 4, replacing it with 5, making it “Day 15”.
This happened more than 3 times and I decided to embrace that as a sign so, I saved my previous text for tomorrow, and started to think about what could this mean or how could I relate this to Métis.
You see, I’ve tried various 100-day challenges before. If I’m being 100% honest, a lot of them either fail or, when day 100 arrived, I realized I had misnumbered a few days, probably due to the kind of mistake I was doing while writing today’s title.
Ever since reading Rafa, I’ve tried to incorporate mastery in everything I do. In this case, I’m referring to mastery as a will to make every action with as much intent and quality as humanly possible.
In the previous challenges, it would be easy to convince me that missing a certain number was no big deal. But it is! It is a big deal. Because no matter the size or impact of your action, it creates ripple effects in the outside world, but, above everything else, in the internal one.
That’s why I vow to keep writing these small prayers to Métis every day and double-check on numbers.
Because details matter in our individual pursuit for mastery.
Details matters sure! But notice that misnunmbering is not failing. You can do 100 day challenge and not give any number to any day at all. In this case a number is detail that helps you keep the track from the start to end.
