As I move forward in my own life, answers slowly morph into questions.
The mercurial nature of worldviews is something I found fascinating. As I look back, say, 4 or 5 years into my life, I see a trail of change and transformation.
Nevertheless, personal covenants remain the same, year after year.
Actually…maybe that’s not totally true.
The basic principles remain the same, but I’ve tweaked my personal covenants as the years went by and today I felt compelled to share them.
Treat yourself the way you deserve to be treated.
Serve others through Active Love
Explore and develop a deep understanding of ideas
Act in a thoughtful way
Love, respect, and embrace Spirit
These are the 5 key principles, I’ve kept over the last few years. The phrasing has changed but the overall intention remains unaltered.
I would love to read some of your own principles! Feel free to share them in the comments.
Beautiful principles!
I've a mostly personal set of principles, and another more family-focused one:
- Personal: Be kind, be curious, be brave. (All three stem from Love though. I.e., love others and myself, love (exploring/understanding) the world, and do the right thing despite it being difficult/hard *because* of Love for it/them.)
- Family life: A relaxed, healthy, and fun/happy family/life/home.
