Seeing the world with a “black-and-white mindset” is easier.
It saves us the trouble of actually thinking about issues. It delegates our own thinking to a third party (sometimes known, other times not so much).
There’s a Portuguese author I like called Nelson Nunes. He wrote a book called “Quem vamos queimar hoje?” (Who are we gonna burn today?) where he explores, through conversations with different people that were once “burned” in social media.
Here’s the most interesting part: most people following these ideas and behaviors don’t even understand them.
They just do what’s easier: following the crowd.
Now, following Métis is harder because it demands the opposite.
Is to go against the crowd when needed.
Wisdom requires original thinking.
Let’s practice that together, shall we?
