Every day I see people talking about things they care about and that’s a great thing!
A new company, youtube, project, favorite rapper, or tv show.
However, most of the time, these things we care about, we want to share and make sure others like them as well.
But because their value and interest are so self-evident, we don’t ask ourselves the question:
Why should other people care?
Seth Godin talks a lot about this.
You need to be able to tell other people why they should be excited about whatever it is that you love.
That’s something I’m still working on.
Some things that I’m passionate about (the idea of a Modern Golden Age, a Revolution in Education) are so important to me that I have some trouble understanding why people don’t care about them as much as I do.
What I’ve tried to do is to become aware that that’s on me, not them. Is up to me to communicate the change I want to make in the world in a way that actually resonates with people.
