Yesterday I talked about expectations and questioned if they were positive or negative.
I’m about to test it out, once again.
For 2 years, me and my girlfriend have been waiting to see a concert (delayed due to Covid in 2021). The anticipation has been building up and finally, today, we’ll be entering the venue to see A Day to Remember and Bring me the Horizon.
I can’t tell you how I excited I am to be back at a big metal concert.
How I miss the music, the loudness.
The movement, the headbang…
Even the smell of a music concert, with a mixture of sweat, tears, beer, smoke…
But the thing I miss the most is the journey.
Every great concert takes you on a journey, to different places within yourself and your own story. You go back to moments in your life and watch them through different lenses, you project yourself into the future through lyrics and choruses. You revisit different rooms, designed and furnished by memories.
I miss that and can’t wait to see if my expectations will help me to be a happier individual in a few hours.
I’ll let you know tomorrow.
