In Tunisia, you may find houses that are half-built.
Looking at them may lead you to conclude that some people there are lazy or even disorganized. However, making such a generalization would be a mistake.
Some people in Tunisia cannot have access to loans in order to build a house. So, to improve their home, they’re left with a single choice: save money.
The problem with money is that it can be stolen, lost, or even get evaluated through inflation, so, some Tunisians buy bricks. However, bricks may also be stolen, so they basically have no choice but to add them to the house to make sure no one can take them.
The result is a half-build house right now and a complete house in 10, to 15 years.
Are they lazy? No.
They’re smart.
And so are we, every time we try to explore things instead of meeting them at face value.
